Most athletes are in danger of experiencing Muscle Strain due to increase muscle use.  Muscle Strain or Pulled Muscle happens when muscle fibers are torn as a result of over stretching or sudden stress.  This is usually caused by lack of flexibility, poor muscle strength, not warming up and impact by an outside force.  A Pulled Muscle is very painful; there is also swelling and tenderness in the affected area.

To avoid muscle strains such as Calf Strain, which is a pulled muscle at the back of the lower legs, and Groin Pain, which is caused by pushing the adductor muscles past their threshold limit, proper warm-up exercises and stretching activities are highly recommended. Warm-ups and Stretching can help your muscles to gradually be flexible and strengthen your muscles, thus preparing you for any stressful activities like sports.  Proper training and exercises are important in an athlete because it can help them prevent and avoid injuries and strains during games.
