Spending time together constructively and being open about feelings and expectations are important ways to build lasting relationships, devoid of destructive games.  The early stages of relationships are sometimes to start sharing ideas, opinions, lifestyles, dreams, preferences and feelings, so people get to know their partner rather than making assumptions about them.

Of course, learning process is never completed, because people are always changing as they strive to become the person and partner God expects them to be.
